Matt's Birthday

Matt would just like to thank everyone who helped him celebrate his birthday. He doesn't really feel older but he is. He received a book from Kendall (the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection). He is really excited to read it but it will take him a long time since the book weighs about 30 pounds. Kendall is trying to encourage Matt to grow up but it seems he just keeps on getting less mature.

Back Blogging: Our Honeymoon

Matt & I haven't even blogged about our honeymoon yet...so here I go!

We decided that we wanted to go to a baseball game and to the temple while on our honeymoon so that narrowed down the places. Matt also didn't have a lot of vacation time so it had to be somewhere close... and I wanted it to be warm of course. So we chose San Diego!!

The first night we stayed here in Reno at the Grand Sierra in their new rooms. It was nice but we weren't way impressed. On Sunday we got up and went to church and then drove to my parents house to open gifts while some of the family was still in town... then we headed off to San Diego.
The first night we went to walked down the the Gas Lamp district and ate dinner and just admired SD. The next morning we got up and rode public transportation to Sea World and spent the whole day admiring animals and walking around. That night we had some desert at the Ghirardelli's ice cream shop that was simply amazing. It was so good that we ended up eating desert there the next night too! Tuesday was our relaxation day where we walked around and just hung out. Later that night we went to a Padres game (where they lost of course) but it was a blast! On Wednesday we packed up and headed up to the San Diego temple for some quick pictures (because it was closed for cleaning) and then went to the Newport Beach temple to do a session. We also stopped by the largest, most ritzy mall ever and ate at the Cheesecake Factory... it was delicious. Then we were on our way home to Reno.
It was short but blissful and fun!

The post you've been waiting for: The Wedding

Matt & I have been slacking on our Blogging duties and we are very sorry. We have decided to back up a month and post about our WEDDING!
The ceremony was beautiful and all that I hoped it would be. It was so amazing to kneel across from the one I love and to be sealed together forever...it's such a blessing that we both had been waiting for. After the sealing I made Matt practice our GRAND POSE for when we walked out of the Temple. So there we were in the entrance trying out our POSE, some may have thought it was weird but I know most people (women especially) understood. The practice was worth it though because we pulled it off beautifully! To my surprise it was a very windy day when we walked out...something I hadn't really prepared for...but for the most part things turned out pretty well.
One of the funniest things about that day was when Matt & I were driving into the church parking lot for the Luncheon and Matt said, "There is a bounce house on the grass." I thought he was totally joking, as this was one of Matt's recommendations for the wedding (that was denied of course). But to my astonishment there was a bounce house that looked like a castle. I rolled down the window and yelled to my mom, "You're in big trouble." Everyone laughed of course, and come to find out it was my dad's idea! The bounce house was definitely a hit though...I even jumped in it.

A downer to the day was definitely the wind though...we almost had to move the reception inside because it was so bad. Some tears were shed but a decision was made to tough it out. Everything turned out well though...even though I didn't wear my veil for the rest of the day... the wind calmed down and we had a great time!

Lastly, we want to thank all of you who have supported Matt & I though out our lives. We both would not be where we are today if it we not for you rooting us on along the way. Thank you for your friendship, and thank you for your examples.

Marriage License

The other day Matt & I drove downtown to the courthouse and got our Marriage Certificate. It took approximately 3 minutes to fill out the paperwork and we were on our way. When people said it was easy to get married in Nevada they meant it. It's almost like McDonalds!

Here is a pic of Matt & I (we look so beautiful...not!!) on our way to the courthouse.

Bridal Shower in Sparks

I apologize for being so lazy...I mean so busy... that we haven't posted.

I had my bridal shower here in Sparks on May 31st, hosted by one of my best friends, Janelle Baclayon and her mom, Linda Corbridge. We also had a lot of help from Andrea Corbridge and Julie Marchant, and my future nieces, Megan, Jessica, and Jocelyn.

Thank you all who were able to come! It was so much fun getting together to eat, play games, open gifts, socialize and of course to laugh.
